"Autumn" Arrives on All This Jazz

Please tune in for the forthcoming edition of All This Jazz, which gets underway at 10pm Central on Saturday the 5th, right here on Public Radio 89.5-1. (We'll also gladly offer, as ever, a 7pm re-airing of ATJ on Sunday the 6th on Jazz 89.5-2, which is our station's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

Each week, our show presents modern jazz, both recent and classic, from Basie, Brubeck, and Billie to Terence Blanchard, Richie Beirach, and Steven Bernstein. Also, the second half of our two-hour program always carries a "theme."

This time around that theme will be an autumnal one, so we'll hear such terrific tunes as (to name just a couple) "Autumn Leaves" and "Autumn in New York" --- as rendered by the likes of Bill Mays, Dave Douglas, Bruce Forman, Cannonball Adderley, and other greats. Join us! (Oh, and I'll also being playing a nice cut called "Autumn City Portrait" from the wonderful young guitarist and composer Todd Clouser; you can hear, just FYI, a 2011 interview that I did with Clouser for Public Radio Tulsa's StudioTulsa program here.)

And lastly, remember that you can always get the playlist for our latest show here. And you can access the weekly blog for All This Jazz, which we like to call Kind of Blog, at this link.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
