Okmulgee, OK – Firings put on hold plans for Tulsa-Jenks span
OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) Plans for a Muscogee (Creek) Nation company to build a toll bridge spanning the Arkansas River between Jenks and south Tulsa have been put on hold.
Principal Chief A.D. Ellis said any such plans have been postponed in the wake of his dismissal earlier this week of the firm's CEO and chief operating officer, plus its board.
Ellis said the businesses and assets of the tribe's Trade and Commerce Authority had been grossly mismanaged.
CEO Michael Wisner denied any wrongdoing and disputed the legality of Ellis' actions.
