Conference welcomes interest in EMS

Emergency medical professionals will have an opportunity for some professional development this week.

The Oklahoma EMT Association’s annual conference begins Wednesday at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center.

EMSA’s Chris Stevens says he expects between 30 and 40 vendors to be displaying the latest in emergency medical technology.

Classes will focus on the latest techniques and strategies in the field.

“Everything from resuce to snakebites to how to treat burns and pediatric emergencies,” Stevens said. “Education is really the focus.”

He says it’s not just for professionals, however. Anyone with an interest in emergency medicine is welcome to attend.

“If you’re kind of a tech person, it’s definitely the place to be,” he said.

There is a registration fee. Click here for more information. The conference runs through Friday.
