Funds Okayed to Re-hire Cops

Tulsa, OK –

The Justice Department has given the city of Tulsa the green light. The city may use federal stimulus funds to re-hire 18 of the 21 dismissed police officers. The officers were given a seven day notice and were still on the force. The city originally sought the grant to hire 18-new officers.

Mayor Taylor says the administration will look for additional ways to save money.
