Another hot day in the low to mid 90s, combined with the high humidity in place over the region, will yield afternoon heat indices between 100 and 105 degrees. Breezy south to southeast winds will yield a very limited fire danger across portions of eastern Oklahoma this afternoon. Thunderstorm chances will increase next week as an upper trough to our west interacts with deep tropical moisture streaming into the region from the southeast. Storm chances will be greatest during the afternoon and early evening hours. Organized severe weather is not expected. However, some isolated pulse severe storms could produce some damaging wind gusts. Some pockets of locally heavy rainfall are possible as well.
