On the Next All This Jazz: Moon Tunes Galore

Listen for the next All This Jazz, starting at 9pm on Saturday the 2nd, right here on KWGS / Public Radio Tulsa.

A full moon will arrive this weekend -- a "supermoon," no less -- so our program's third-hour theme (running from 11pm to midnight) will be Moon Tunes. Come along as we hear some top-notch lunar tracks by the likes of Brad Mehldau, Enrico Rava, Tom Waits, Rene Marie, Billie Holiday, and more. And elsewhere in our show, we'll dig the music of (to name but a few) Oscar Hernandez, Bill Frisell, Michael Carvin, and Sonny Clark -- plus we'll remember two jazz greats who passed away last month: drummer Ben Riley (at 84) and singer Jon Hendricks (at 96).

Every Saturday night, both online and over the air, ATJ delivers three hours of recent and classic jazz -- across a wide range of styles -- from 9 o'clock till midnight. From John Coltrane to John Zorn, Woody Herman to Woody Shaw, Chris Connor to Kris Davis, and Gerry Mulligan to Geri Allen, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many forms, and we love sharing the same with our listeners.

Also, please note that ATJ playlist information can be found here, at the bottom of the page...and that we maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thank you.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
