Oklahomans Aid in Florida Repair

Megan Ross, Gaylord News

Linemen with the Public Service Company of Oklahoma are working to get power restored to parts of Florida affected by Hurricane Michael.

“We are so blessed to have them, we are so blessed. Never ever forget them.”

Mary Lundy is glad to have power restored, but she fears her uninsured home is unsalvageable.

“Even though we have major damage, we are totally blessed. And we are alive, so what more can you ask for?”

Public Service Company of Oklahoma has sent more than 120 people to help restore power… and some sort of normalcy to the Florida Panhandle.

Senior Engineer Jonathan Caudle says it’s just what power companies do to help each other out.

“PSO comes and does this to help out other utilities. We have a little acronym in the office that PSO is people serving others.”

Altogether, Oklahoma electric companies have sent more than 200 workers to the area..
