One man is dead, two more under arrest after a police shooting at a hotel in east Tulsa. Captain Rick Helberg says members of the Organized Gang Unit were working a special grant designed to get drugs and guns off the street.
Two members of the gang unit approached a vehicle in the parking lot of the Extended Stay Inn near I-44 and 41st, had a brief conversation, then one of the men in the SUV pulled a gun. Officers fired. No one else was hit except the armed man. The other men in the vehicle were arrested. An investigation is underway. Helberg says it wasn’t immediately known why the man pulled a gun.
