Performance Oklahoma: The Jerusalem String Quartet

Armstrong Auditorium

The New York Times writes, “The Jerusalem String Quartet played it all with equal passion, and a tender sense of ownership.” Emerging near the end of the 20th century as one of the most talented, busiest, and in-demand string quartets of its generation, the exceedingly heavy concert schedule makes the growing number of admirers wonder how the group is able to maintain such a large and ever-expanding repertory which also includes standard and contemporary works. Appearing on Thursday, March 23rd in 2017 at Armstrong Auditorium in Edmond, the Jerusalem String Quartet offered a program featuring the Quartet in D Major, Op 64, No. 5 "Lark" of Franz Joseph Haydn, the Quartet No. 1 in b minor, Op 50 by Sergei Prokofiev and the Quartet in F Major, Op 59, No. 1 "Razumovsky" by Ludwig van Beethoven, the ensemble presented by the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation's Performing Arts Series.

This program airs on Saturday, March 24th, 8pm, on Classical 88.7 KWTU.
