Rehiring Officers

Tulsa, OK – The City of Tulsa is petitioning the federal government to re-purpose a federal grant. If approved, Acting Police Chief Chuck Jordan would be able to rehire 35-of the laid-off police officers. The effort is being delayed because the federal government is closed because of severe winter weather in Washington, D.C.

Jordan says if approved he will re-establish his traffic enforcement units. The officers were laid-off because of city budget cuts,
