The Tulsa Salvation Army will take new steps to address the Tulsa Homeless population. People will only be allowed to stay at the Salvation Army Shelter for 15 days. After that, the must be enrolled in a help program or pay a fee. Tulsa Commander Ken Chapman says those intoxicated will not be allowed inside.
Commander Chapman says the new policies will take effect on October 10th.
He says they are seeing the same people night-after-night, and in some cases, year-after-year. Commander Chapman says too often the Salvation Army has enabled people rather than helping them get on their feet.
