Minor-league hockey team in Athens, Ga., is christened the Rock Lobsters

(SOUNDBITE OF B-52S SONG, "ROCK LOBSTER")

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.

The B-52s sang about finding a rock lobster under a dock on the beach. What about finding one inside a hockey rink? This will happen, after a new Minor League team in Athens, Ga., was christened the Rock Lobsters. The nickname nods to the new wave band from Athens, whose debut single shared the same name. The name will be accompanied by a logo of a lobster holding a hockey stick doubling as an electric guitar. What? It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
