Delaware_County.jpg

GROVE, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver in a one-vehicle crash that killed a 22-year-old woman and a toddler has died from his injuries.

The highway patrol says 22-year-old Casey Lee Dean Nelson of Bernice died late Wednesday at a hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Nelson was driving a pickup truck on a county road near Grove on Tuesday when he went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Killed in the crash were Kayla Deann Hull and 2-year-old Kane Alexander Hull. Both were from Grove.

The cause of the crash is under investigation but the highway patrol says excessive speed may have contributed to it. No one in the truck was wearing seat belts and the highway patrol says no child restraints were in use.
