Cannon Shot Crashes into Wyandotte Home
WYANDOTTE, Okla. (AP) — Authorities in Wyandotte say a projectile fired from a cannon during a gun show traveled nearly two miles and crashed into the bedroom of a home in Wyandotte.
Officials say there were no injuries.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office told reporters that the projectile from the 105 millimeter howitzer crashed into the bedroom of the home of Gene and Jeanne Kelly about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The round was about 14 inches long and 3.5 inches wide.
The home is almost two miles from the Oklahoma Full Auto Shoot and Trade Show that was held in Wyandotte during the weekend. The military cannon was listed on the show's website as a new attraction.
Telephone calls to the event organizer were not returned.
