Oklahoma State Suspends Fraternity for 2 Years

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — A fraternity at Oklahoma State University has been suspended for two years for violating the college's policies regarding alcohol and hazing.

The Oklahoman reports the university has suspended the Phi Delta Theta fraternity until August 2016.

College officials say the fraternity hosted a keg party at the fraternity's house in May. The Greek organization was already on deferred suspension at the time until August 2015 for paddling pledges. The deferred suspension allowed the fraternity to remain as an active group on campus while completing a number of requirements.

An Oklahoma State University spokeswoman says fraternity officials want to return to the campus after their suspension. She says she isn't aware of any individual fraternity members being disciplined.
