Tulsa School Board Approves New Budget
The Tulsa School Board approves a $542 million budget for next year. Enough money has been found to bring back 42 teachers and nine staff members who were cut earlier this year. All total, the district trimmed 92 positions from the budget earlier this year.
The School Board heard the facts-and-figures last night from school administrators. Nearly 50% of the district's budget comes from the state. The state announced yesterday it plans to end the year with a surplus, despite drastic cuts earlier in the year.
