Bynum Wins Mayor's Office

Two term Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett is defeated for re-election. Tulsa District 9 City Councilor G.T. Bynum won the office outright during Tuesday's primary.  Pundits had expected the race to continue until November, but Bynum picked-up more than 50% for the total vote out of a field of five candidates.

In Other Races:

  • Councilors Patrick, Ewing and Dodson were re-elected.
  • Jim Bridenstine won re-election as Tulsa's Congressman. No Democrat filed.
  • Sheriff Vic Regalado wins the GOP race for Sheriff. Rex Barry will be the Democratic nominee.
  • Karen Keith will face Josh Turley in November for the District 2 County Commission. 
  • Michael Willis will be the new Tulsa County Clerk.
  • State Representative Ken Walker is defeated by primary challenger Carol Bush.
