Quake in Southern Oklahoma

USGS Market

Most of our earthquakes in Oklahoma have been north of Interstate 40. That, however, was not the case this morning.

Just before 3:30 this morning a 3.3 magnitude earthquake shook the Coalgate area. It was felt over a several county area area, southwest of McAlester.

The Coal County Sheriff's office reports no major damage and no injuries from the quake.
