OEA Sets April 23rd Deadline

OEA

The Oklahoma Education Association has given state lawmakers a deadline. The OEA says lawmakers have until April 23rd to pass a meaningful raise for educators or they will shut down the schools.

West Virginia teachers were successful in getting a five percent raise, but Oklahoma teachers feel they deserve more than that.

Oklahoma teachers are the lowest paid in the nation. Lawmakers have tried for a $5,000 raise, but have been unable to move such a measure through the legislature.
