When you look at a Tulsa crime map, the area around 11th and Garnett is a hot spot. An east Tulsa pastor wants to change that.

Pastor Sharyn Cosby wants to turn the old Economy Inn at 11th and Garnett into a homeless outreach. ‘In the Spirit Church’ has formed “Oklahoma Family Empowerment”. Pastor Cosby wants to clean up the area’s blight. She says that includes the sex workers and even their johns.

Only a few rooms would be used for housing. The rest of the facility would be used as a food pantry, clothing storage and classroom space.
