Owasso Man Killed in Turnpike Crash

Pam Byers

One of several crashes on the Will Rogers Turnpike proves fatal to an Owasso man.  Other wrecks took place because of the massive Labor Day traffic backup.

36-year-old Michael Williams was killed when his car collided with a tractor-trailer rig. The crash was between the Claremore and Adair  exits in Rogers County.

Williams was trapped in the wreckage for 90-minutes. The roadway was blocked both directions for several hours on Monday afternoon.

The driver of the big rig and his passenger, both from Mississippi, were not injured. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has not ruled on the cause of the crash.
