More Than 150 New Reported Cases of COVID-19 Push Oklahoma's Total Past 700

Oklahoma State Department of Health

Oklahoma had 154 new reported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the state's total to 719, a 27% increase from the day before.

Seven more people have died from the illness — three in Oklahoma County and one each in Greer, Kay, Mayes and Osage counties — bringing the state's total number of deaths to 30. The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 219 people have been hospitalized.

Greer County had its first reported case. There are now 48 counties with reported cases of COVID-19.

Oklahoma County continues to be the hardest-hit in the state with 192 cases and 10 deaths. Tulsa County has the second-highest number of cases, 115, an increase of 32 from Tuesday.

State officials are still trying to get a full picture of testing capabilities across state and private labs. They have also opened mobile testing sites in Woodward, Altus and Comanche to see how the novel coronavirus is spreading outside metro areas.
