Tulsa Homecoming Game Postponed over Cincinnati COVID Cases

University of Tulsa

The American Athletic Conference postponed Thursday the University of Tulsa’s homecoming football game this Saturday because of COVID-19 cases among its opponent, Cincinnati.

The game has been moved to Dec. 5. Interim Director of Athletics Rick Dickson said he was disappointed.

"This TU Homecoming game was a great opportunity to showcase our football program, the community and the American Athletic Conference against the nation’s No. 8 team," Dickson in a statement. "As the university, the conference and the NCAA have said throughout this pandemic, the health and safety of our student-athletes are at the forefront of all decisions."

Tickets and parking purchased for the original Oct.17 date are valid for the rescheduled game, and ticket holders do not need to take further action.

TU’s next game is against South Florida on Oct. 23. The Golden Hurricane’s home opener is now Oct. 30 against East Carolina.
