University of Tulsa sports venues will be at full capacity again starting this fall, including 30,000-seat H.A. Chapman Stadium.
Chapman stadium was capped at roughly 4,000 last year for the three home football games the Golden Hurricane actually played. Three other home games were canceled because of COVID-19.
Athletics Director Rick Dickson said in a statement TU will operate venues safely and stay up-to-date on state and local guidance.
"After experiencing a remarkable year of competition without the ability to share with many of our loyal and passionate Hurricane fans, it gives me great satisfaction to welcome our fans back to games this year," Dickson said.
Six home football games are on the schedule for 2021, with the opener Sept. 2 against UC Davis. The team averaged almost 19,000 in announced attendance in 2019.
Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium and the Donald W. Reynolds Center will also be at full capacity when soccer and volleyball seasons start.
Other venues are expected to be at full capacity for winter and spring sports, but additional information will be available prior to the start of the individual sport seasons.
