A woman is found dead inside the Pawnee County Jail. It appears she shot herself to death while incarcerated. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been called into figure out how 26-year-old Brittany DeVerges got a gun into her jail cell.
She was arrested early yesterday for public intoxication. She was found dead from a gunshot wound in the chest around noon. The gun was next to her.
The OSBI says the investigation is ongoing. The OSBI report will be turned over to the Pawnee County Sheriff and the District Attorney.
