50 Years Ago, Redux: Next Time on All This Jazz, More Great Recordings from 1966

Tune in for the next All This Jazz, beginning at 9pm on Saturday the 20th, right here on Public Radio 89.5 KWGS-FM...and online via live stream at PublicRadioTulsa.org. Our program delivers three hours of modern/recent/classic jazz, across a wide range of styles, each and every Saturday night -- from 9 o'clock till midnight. (We also offer a 7pm re-airing of ATJ on Sunday evenings, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

From Duke Jordan to Duke Pearson, Paul Chambers to Paul Desmond, John Abercrombie to John Zorn, and Betty Carter to Ron Carter, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many various forms, and we dig sharing the same with our listeners.

And in the theme-driven, 11-to-midnight hour of the next ATJ, we'll offer an all-killer-no-filler addendum to a theme that we featured on our show a couple of weeks ago. To wit, our theme will be More from '66: Additional Great Jazz Albums from Fifty Years Ago. Thus we'll hear from standout LPs by the likes of Shirley Scott, John Handy, Lee Morgan, George Benson, and more.

Elsewhere in the program, we'll also hear tasty cuts from Carla Bley, Otis Brown III, Lew Tabackin, Dick Oatts, Tomeka Reid, and so forth.... Join us! If you're a jazz fan, then All This Jazz is just your speed.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
