On All This Jazz, on July 4th: Music Recorded in Our Nation’s Capital

Join us for a special Independence Day edition of All This Jazz, beginning at 9pm on Saturday, July 4th, right here on Public Radio 89.5 KWGS-FM (and streaming free o’ charge at PublicRadioTulsa.org). Our wide-ranging program delivers three hours of recent, classic, modern, and post-modern jazz, each and every Saturday night, from 9 o’clock till midnight!

On our next broadcast, we’ll hear from, among others: Kenny Barron, Sarah Vaughan, Dave Stryker, Wayne Escoffery, Steve Lacy, and the late Freddy Cole (who died recently at age 88). And in the theme-driven, holiday-inspired 3rd hour of our show, starting at 11pm, we’ll spotlight Great Jazz Recorded in Our Nation’s Capital…including choice tracks from the long-running Georgetown club known as Blues Alley, from the Kennedy Center, from the White House (shown here), and more.

Do tune in! If you're a jazz fan, then All This Jazz is definitely All You.

(And please note: ATJ playlist information is posted right about here...and we also maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thanks. Happy 4th.)

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
