Another 108 Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 Brings Oklahoma's Total to 2,465

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported on Friday 108 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the state's total to 2,465.

Five additional deaths reported Friday brought the state's total to 136. All five deaths were adults 65 or older, four women and one man. The man was a Tulsa County resident, bringing the county's total number of deaths to 22.

Over the course of the outbreak, 541 people have been hospitalized.

Tulsa County has seen two straight days with 14 new cases and now has 390 total confirmed cases of COVID-19. Just 10 counties remain without reported cases: Cimarron, Harper, Ellis, Roger Mills, Hammon, Washita, Blaine, Pushmataha, Coal and Hughes.

The state has updated its data reporting and is now updating a dashboard daily. It breaks down cases by city and offers other new details on COVID-19 in Oklahoma.

State officials said Friday more than 33,000 Oklahomans have now been tested for COVID-19.

Nursing homes and other long-term care facilities have been hit hard by COVID-19. Gov. Kevin Stitt said Friday they account for around one-third of the state's cases. The Oklahoma National Guard could be sent to help with outbreaks at a care facility.

State Secretary of Science and Innovation Dr. Kayse Shrum said a task force has been assembled to focus on the state's response to COVID-19 in nursing homes.
