Tulsa, OK – Baby left in hot vehicle

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Tulsa police say an infant boy was taken to a local hospital for observation after he was reportedly left in a hot vehicle outside a department store.

Police Cpl. Mike Hanley says when officers responded to an emergency call Sunday afternoon at a Super Target in southeast Tulsa, the 1-month-old child had been taken out and was cooling off inside the store.

Hanley says the baby reportedly was in the vehicle's back seat for about 30 minutes.

Police say the boy's mother told officers she thought the baby was with the father.

Hanley says she wasn't arrested but she could face a criminal charge in the incident.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday's high temperature was 96 degrees.
