Bitter Cold and Freeze Warning Ahead for Tulsa Metro

NWS Graphic

Areas of light rain will spread across the region today
through this evening, with precipitation ending during
the evening hours. A brief window of rain and snow mix
may spread across locations near the Oklahoma Kansas border
late this evening, however no snow accumulation is expected.

Temperatures well below seasonal normals will prevail through
the weekend into early next week. A freeze is expected across
northeast Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas early Friday
morning, and a widespread killing freeze is likely Saturday
morning. Also, a fast moving strong storm system may spread
a mixture of light rain and snow across portions of northeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas on Monday. At this time
any accumulations appear very light, and later forecasts
will continue to adjust this winter weather potential.
