Blues on Bach: On the Next Edition of All This Jazz -- Jazz Players, Classical Works

Tune in for the next All This Jazz, airing on Saturday the 6th at 9pm here on Public Radio 89.5 / KWGS-FM...and online via audio streaming at PublicRadioTulsa.org.

Our program delivers three hours of modern jazz -- across a range of styles -- each and every Saturday night, from 9 till midnight. (We also offer a 7pm re-airing of ATJ on Sunday evenings, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

From Pat Martino to Pat Metheny, Sonny Rollins to Sonny Clark, Jackie Cain to Jaki Byard, and Dave Brubeck to Dave Douglas, All This Jazz is delighted by modern jazz in its many various forms, and we dig sharing the same with our listeners.

Also, in the theme-driven, 11-to-midnight hour of our next show -- as we listen back to a fine show from September of last year -- our thematic emphasis will be Jazz Players, Classical Works. And so we'll hear, for example, Wayne Shorter playing Sibelius and Paquito D'Rivera playing Chopin. And elsewhere in our show, we'll listen to tasty tracks from Dexter Gordon, Marshall Gilkes (shown here), Roy Hargrove, and more.

If you're a jazz fan, then All This Jazz is your kind of radio program, for sure. Join us.

Two final points: ATJ playlist information can usually be found -- or at least searched for -- right about here...and we also maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thank you.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
