The sun provides less than one percent of American electricity.  But there is a solar surge underway and the number of installations grew 75% in 2012.  Wind power is also on the upswing and it is happening in places you might not expect.

Today we are looking at investment in fuels that will not fry the planet.  We will hear the story of how President Obama championed a green, new deal, homeowners who are going solar without plunking down a pile of cash up front and the growth of green energy in red states.  The clean energy economy.  Up next on Climate One, Friday, June 7, 8pm and Thursday, June 13th, 12Noon on KWGS 89.5
