College Receives Native American Artifacts

Bacone

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) — A collection of Native American art and artifacts have been donated to a small private college in eastern Oklahoma.

Bacone College announced that the estate of Lois Nelson Miller donated the 88 pieces ranging from the early 20th century to the late 1980s.

The collection includes pottery, baskets, paintings and textiles.

Bacone officials say the college will publicly display some of the pieces through Oct. 1.
