Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of our show, we hear from Dr. Tim Sharp, who was recently appointed the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus; his tenure with the TOC began with the 2009-2010 concert season. The TOC has a concert coming up on Saturday the 20th --- at 7:30pm; at the Holy Family Cathedral, in downtown Tulsa, on West 8th Street --- and Dr. Sharp tells us all about the exciting program of (mostly new or recent) works that are on the program. This concert is entitled "Epic Stories in Song," and it will consist of the following: "Which Was the Son of..." by Arvo Part, "Jesus and the Traders" by Zoltan Kodaly, "Cantata Misericordium" by Benjamin Britten, and "Lux Aeterna" by Morten Lauridsen. Also, the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra will perform at this concert, along with soloists Randall Rushing and Jeffrey Snider. (By the way, Dr. Sharp comes to TOC after a stint as the conductor of the MasterSingers Chorale in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was also Dean of Fine Arts and Director of Choral Activities at Rhodes College.)
