COVID-19: Oklahoma up to 4,732 Cases, 278 Deaths; State Says More Than 106,000 Tested

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 119 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the state's total number to 4,732.

Five more deaths were reported, with one in the past day and the rest happening between April 30 and May 9. One death was a Tulsa County woman between 50 and 64 years old. The other deaths were all adults over 65.

The total number of deaths increased from 274 to 278, however, because a previously reported death in Washington County was removed from the count. According to the health department, an adult between 18 and 35 years old noted as having died April 14 actually did not.

The illness has hospitalized 840 people, and 190 are currently hospitalized.

According to the health department, 182 new patients are considered to have recovered from COVID-19. The total number of people who have recovered stands at 3,423, leaving the state with 1,309 active cases.

The health department reported 106,559 tests have now been performed, which would give Oklahoma a positive test rate of 4.4%.

Updated May 12, 12:25 p.m. to include the state health department's clarification of total deaths.
