Tulsa, Oklahoma – Since it's "back to school" time once again, we at StudioTulsa are offering a series of outstanding education-related programs from our archives. We're calling it Education Week --- five shows from the recent past in which we hear from leading educators and education experts. On today's show, we chat with Jay Mathews, the education columnist for The Washington Post. Mathews discusses his book, "Work Hard. Be Nice. How Two Inspired Teachers Created the Most Promising Schools in America." In this work, he describes the creation, dispersal, and remarkable success of the nationwide network of public charter schools known as KIPP (as in, the Knowledge Is Power Program).
