Equality Study Takes on Police Use of Force

Tulsa Council/KWGS News

The Tulsa Equality Indicators input meeting last night featured Tulsans telling stories of the use of force by local police.

Gregory Robinson III called the way police respond to incidents in the African American community “Terrorism.”

Mayor Bynum told the gathering that as Mayor he sees things somewhat differently.  He told the group that he was at the incident in question during a police ride-along. He says it was not terrorism. He talked of positive interactions he witnessed between police and the Black Community.

The discussion continues next week with a panel of experts discussing the issue.
