Gathering Place Launches Free Shuttle to and from Downtown Tulsa

Tulsa's Gathering Place started its new shuttle system on Friday.

The free shuttle will transport park visitors back and forth from Williams Lodge to three locations in Downtown Tulsa: Fourth Street and Denver Avenue, Tulsa Community College's Metro Campus, and Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.

Tulsa Transit General Manager Ted Rieck said the shuttle will run through May for now.

"We want to see if the demand is there and attendance at the park tends to be driven by the weather, so that’ll be a factor in demand. So we’ll see how it all works out," Rieck said.

Gathering Place Executive Director Tony Moore said riders are welcome to use the parking lots at TCC and Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.

"As we start to get into Spring Break and Summer, the more parking spots we have, the better it is and so to get over a thousand spots with a free shuttle from downtown, this really elevates the experience of Gathering Place and convenience from our visitation point of view," Moore said.

The shuttle runs Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. During spring break, the shuttle will run every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
