By Rich Fisher

Tulsa, Oklahoma – On today's StudioTulsa, our guest is David Gerard, who's worked for several years as a reporter, writer, and editor at the Muskogee Phoenix newspaper in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Gerard recently put out his second novel, "God's Acres," which won the 2011 Oklahoma Book Award for Fiction from the Oklahoma Center for the Book. At once thoughtfully, gracefully, and candidly written, "God's Acres" --- a rather autobiographical novel, as Gerard admits on our program --- presents the story of a young boy named Bud, who's growing up in a large family on a small farm near St. Joseph, Missouri, in the 1950s.
