Tulsa, Oklahoma – The much-recorded Cypress Quartet is currently presenting a two-day residency among music-loving youngsters throughout the Tulsa Public Schools. The quartet's visit to Tulsa will culminate with a performance of their innovative multi-media work, "Inspired by America," on Saturday night (the 25th) at the Booker T. Washington High School auditorium. Our guest today on StudioTulsa is violinist Tom Stone, a member of this widely acclaimed quartet. As Stone tells our host Rich Fisher, this very active musical collective --- which offers a good 100 performances per year, in addition to the ongoing study of standard classical works as well as the commissioning of new works --- is also deeply committed to music education programs nationwide.
