Composer John Mackey, joined the Norman Philharmonic for several days of rehearsals and educational programs involving the Norman Public Schools. His residency culminated in a full length concert marking the start of the orchestra's third season and was presented on Sunday, September 15th at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts in Norman. Salute by Morton Gould, Franz Joseph Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante showcasing four soloists: concertmaster Michael Sutton, principal cellist Valerie Tatge, principal oboist Dan Schwatz and principal bassoonist Rodney Ackmann and the Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber.
