Mayor and Council Reach Vision Tax Accord

The Mayor and the Tulsa City Council come to tentative terms on a Vision Sales Tax Renewal proposal to submit to voters next spring. Final details still need to be worked out after the first of the year.

The agreement includes a public safety component that Mayor Bartlett wanted and other project for economic Development and Arkansas River enhancement

The proposed package includes:

  • $157-Million for the Arkansas River low water dams and other amenities.
  • $268-Million for public safety including new officers, firefighters and emergency operators at the Tulsa's 911 Center.
  • $366-Million for Economic Development projects including:

$69-Million for the Gilcrease Museum
$60-Million for Transit

$32-Million for Airport improvements

$30-Million for Zoo Improvements

$18-Million for BMX National Headquarters

$15-Million for Center of the Universe Transportation Hub

$12-Million for a North Peoria Business Park at Mohawk Boulevard

$10-Million for Route 66 Trust

$9-Million for improvements at the Air National Guard Station.
