Tune in Saturday the 20th at 10pm Central here on Public Radio 89.5 for the All This Jazz Holiday Show...or dig it online via live stream at PublicRadioTulsa.org. (We'll also offer, as always, a 7pm re-broadcast of ATJ on Sunday the 21st on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)
Regular listeners to ATJ know that each and every program carries a theme in the latter half of our two-hour fun-fest. But for this special edition of our show, airing on the Saturday night before Christmas, both hours of the program will be enthusiastically devoted to Holiday Jazz.
From "We Three Kings" and "Carol of the Bells" and "Silent Night" to "Frosty the Snowman" and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Dance of the Reed Flutes" (this last one from, of course, "The Nutcracker") -- it'll be modern jazz, both recent and classic, across a range of styles.
Join us for an excellent 120 minutes of music from the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Matt Wilson (shown here), Ted Rosenthal, Helen Merrill, Jimmy Smith, George Shearing, The Hot Club of Detroit, and many more.
It's All This Jazz...and it's yuletide all the way.
