Tulsa, OK – Ground is broken later for a new shopping center in North Tulsa. The Shoppes on Peoria, the new 27,000 square foot retail development center will be located in north Tulsa at 1731 N. Peoria Avenue.

It is at the site of the old Seminole Shopping Center, known by developers as the Banfield site, after a long time meat market that was located there.

The center will feature several franchise operations and a new stand-alone restaurant. It is expected to take nine-months to complete the project. It is being financed with community development block grants.

It is located just north of shopping center that featured an Alberterson's Supermarket that was closed, leaving North Peoria without a grocery store. Plans were recently announced for a supermarket to move into that location.
