On the Next All This Jazz: Broadway Show Tunes!

Come along, folks, for the next go-round of All This Jazz, which begins at 10pm on Saturday the 8th here on Public Radio 89.5-1. As ever, we'll offer modern jazz, both recent and classic, from pianist Frank Kimbrough and bassist David Finck to vocalist June Christy and veteran reedsmith Bud Shank. (We'll also offer, again as ever, a Sunday-night re-broadcast of our program on the 9th, beginning at 7pm, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is our station's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

ATJ likes to present a theme in the second hour of each and every program, and this time around, with the 2013 Tony Awards happening on Sunday night, the 9th --- to be aired "live" from Radio City Music Hall on CBS television, by the way --- said theme will be Tunes from Broadway Musicals.

So, we'll hear nifty jazz renditions of songs from such widely beloved shows as "Camelot," "The King & I," "A Little Night Music," "The Music Man," and many more. Hope you can join us.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
