On the Next All This Jazz: Celebrating ECM Records (Part 2 of 3)

Dig the forthcoming All This Jazz, starting at 9pm on Saturday the 17th, right here on KWGS-FM / Public Radio Tulsa.

On this edition of ATJ, we'll continue our three-episode tribute to -- and retrospective of -- ECM Records, per the UK's Independent, "the most important imprint in the world for jazz and new music." ECM (as in, Edition of Contemporary Music) was founded 50 years ago, in the fall of 1969, and thus far it has released some 1,600 albums. And it's still going strong! So, our program's 3rd and thematic hour, running from 11pm till midnight, will present a range of ECM recordings by the likes of Paul Motian, Dave Holland, Mathias Eick, Areni Agbabian, and more. (And elsewhere in our show, listen for Michael Carvin, Karrin Allyson, Aaron Goldberg, and Thad Jones.)

Tune in, fellow jazz buffs! Every Saturday night, both online and over the air, we deliver both recent and classic jazz -- across a wide range of styles. Indeed, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many forms, and we love sharing the same with our listeners.

Finally, note that ATJ playlist info can be found here, at the bottom of the page...and that we maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thank you for listening.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
