On the Next All This Jazz: Music from Benny Golson, Edward Simon, Joe Newman, Carol Sloane, and More

Join us for All This Jazz, starting at 9pm on Saturday the 14th, right here on KWGS / Public Radio Tulsa. It'll be three hours of can't-miss modern jazz -- all of it lovingly chosen and presented by an actual person...rather than an algorithm!

In the 3rd and thematic hour of our show, running from 11pm till midnight, our focus will be "Double Takes." Thus we'll hear two tracks apiece from these four outstanding albums: BENNY’S GOLSON’S NEW YORK SCENE (recorded in 1957; shown here), HOT HOUSE by Gary Burton and Chick Corea (released in 2012), Edward Simon’s LATIN AMERICAN SONGBOOK (released in 2016), and A LOUSY DAY IN HARLEM by The Ed Palermo Big Band (released earlier this year). And elsewhere in our program, listen for music from Sidney Bechet, Michael Brecker, Joe Newman, Carol Sloane, and other greats.

Tune in, fellow jazz buffs! Every Saturday night, both online and over the air, we deliver both recent and classic jazz -- across a wide range of styles. Indeed, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many forms, and we love sharing the same with our listeners.

Also, FYI: ATJ playlist info can be found here, at the bottom of the page...and that we maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thanks for listening.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
