Join us for the next broadcast of All This Jazz, beginning at 9pm on Saturday the 3rd, right here on Public Radio 89.5 KWGS-FM...and online by way of our "Listen Live" stream at PublicRadioTulsa.org.
Our program delivers three hours of modern jazz -- across a range of styles -- each and every Saturday night, from 9 o'clock till midnight. (We also offer a 7pm re-airing of ATJ on Sunday evenings, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)
From Gerry Mulligan to Geri Allen, from Dave Brubeck to Dave Holland, and from Duke Ellington to Duke Pearson, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many forms, and we dig sharing the same with our listeners.
And in the theme-driven, 11-to-midnight hour of our next program, we'll present music by several of the iconic jazz greats appearing in the "On 52nd Street" photography show currently on view at the Gilcrease Museum here in Tulsa. (This magnificent exhibit closes on Sunday the 11th; more details can be found here.) And elsewhere in our radio show, we'll enjoy music by the late great altoist Phil Woods (who died earlier this week at 83), guitarist John McLaughlin, the Brazilian funk/fusion trio known as Azymuth, trumpeter Lee Morgan, and more.
If you're a jazz fan, then All This Jazz is most assuredly just your speed. Therefore, please do come along.
(Two final points: ATJ playlist data can usually be found -- or at least searched for -- right about here...and we also maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thanks.)
