On the Next All This Jazz: Remembering McCoy Tyner (1938-2020)

Join us for All This Jazz, starting at 9pm on Saturday the 14th, right here on KWGS / Public Radio Tulsa. It'll be three solid hours of can't-miss modern jazz -- all of it lovingly chosen and presented by an actual person, rather than an algorithm or robot. (!)

Also, in the 3rd and thematic hour of our show, running from 11pm till midnight, our focus will be Remembering McCoy Tyner. The legendary pianist and composer (and Coltrane sideman) died recently at age 81, and so we'll hear recordings from throughout his long career -- as well as a few choice cuts of other jazz greats playing Tyner's tunes. And elsewhere in our show, we’ll dig music by Michel Petrucciani, Stephane Grappelli, Randy Napoleon, Jane Monheit, The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and many more.

Tune in, fellow jazz fans! Every Saturday night, both online and over the air, All This Jazz delivers both recent and classic jazz -- across a wide range of styles.

And please note that ATJ playlist info can be found here, at the bottom of the page.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
