On the Next ATJ: Halloween Jazz

Join us for the next All This Jazz, beginning at 9pm on Saturday the 29th, right here on Public Radio 89.5 KWGS-FM...and online via live stream at PublicRadioTulsa.org. Our program delivers three hours of recent and classic jazz, across a range of styles, each and every Saturday night -- from 9 o'clock till midnight. (We also offer a 7pm re-airing of ATJ on Sunday evenings, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

From Gerry Mulligan to Geri Allen, Stan Kenton to Stan Getz, John Abercrombie to John Zorn, and Sonny Fortune to Sonny Rollins, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many various forms, and we dig sharing the same with our listeners.

And in the theme-driven, 11-to-midnight hour of our next ATJ, as ghosts, pumpkins, and monsters are being spotted these days more and more frequently, our theme will be Halloween Jazz Tunes. Thus we'll hear such can’t-miss cuts as “The Great Pumpkin Waltz” (by Vince Guaraldi), “Frankenstein” (by Jackie McLean), and “When There Is No Sun” (by Sun Ra), to name just a few. And elsewhere in the show, we’ll hear from John Scofield, Helen Carr, Barney Kessel, and more.

Join us! If you're a jazz fan, then All This Jazz is all for you.

(Two final points: ATJ playlist information can be found right about here...and we also maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thank you.)

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
